.ASIA Domains

The .ASIA name space was approved by ICANN on December 6 2006, and the DotASIA organization is now actively promoting the .ASIA domain name to the 73 Asian countries.

.ASIA LANDRUSH
The .ASIA Landrush has now arrived. This phase of the .ASIA release allows for any company or individual to apply for any available .ASIA domain name. Unlike the Sunrise periods, you do not need to provide company or trademark documents to support your claim for your .ASIA domain name application.

The only requirement to apply for a .ASIA domain name in the Landrush period is to provide a contact address within the recognized Asia Region. If you do not meet this requirement, Asia Registry will act as your local presence provider for no additional cost.

Due to the auction process of the Landrush stage, the allocation of the .ASIA Landrush domain names will not begin until March 26 2008.

.ASIA Auction Process
An Auction process is also applicable for the land rush phase of the .ASIA release. If more than one person or company has applied for the same domain name during the Landrush phase, a closed online auction will be held, and the highest bidder will be win the right to the domain name.

In these circumstances, the DotASIA Registry and the designated auction provider will notify you if your Landrush application will be going to auction.

.ASIA General Registrations
The General Registration (Go Live!) Period for .ASIA starts on March 26 2008. From this date onwards, .ASIA Domain name applications are processed on a first come, first served basis.
